We are surrounded by so much negativity in our work, home life, the way we talk to one another or talk about other people.
For words to be so powerful, we often go through our day not paying attention to how we are using them.

When we are young we hear responses like;
"Oh they are so young, just wait."
"Wait until they are older and reality kicks in."
"Wait until they have kids and they struggle."
"They can't do that."
When we are older we hear responses like;
"That's just how I am."
"I'm too old to change now."
We hear more words of I or they Can't, Won't, Not realistic, Not good enough vs. I or they Will, Can, Forward-looking, Are good enough.
Why is it easier to spout so much negativity toward ourselves and in others' lives instead of being reassuring, loving, supporting, or uplifting?
When words are so powerful, we need to be that much more intentional about how we use them.

His words says "the tongue can bring death or life." Proverbs 18:21
That means the words we speak every day, every sentence, and every second either brings Life or Death.
He says in Ephesians 4:29 "Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven us."
This week is a prayer over the intentionality of our words. I pray that we can be more intentional in our words. How we speak to others and how we speak about others. I pray the words that are spoken bring life not death. I pray the words you speak to yourself this week fill you with hope, peace, life, comfort, and Joy. I pray for the words spoken about others bring hope, peace, life, comfort, and Joy.
I pray over making conscious intentional decisions to use our words in a way that brings purpose, encouragement, excitement, peace, comfort, joy, positivity, and love.
